Former President Donald Trump made controversial remarks about undocumented immigrants and the upcoming election during a rally in Ohio on Saturday night.

Donald Trump was in a Dayton, Ohio, suburb to support Senate candidate Bernie Moreno, who is in a close primary race against state Sen. Matt Dolan and Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

At the rally, Trump commented on immigrants accused of crimes, saying, “I don’t know if you call them people.”

He said, “In some cases, they’re not people, in my opinion.” He also warned of a dire situation if he loses the November election, suggesting it would be a “bloodbath” for the country.

The Biden campaign criticized Trump’s comments, calling them “threats of political violence.”

Trump’s remarks are in line with his past use of harsh language against immigrants, such as calling Mexicans “rapists.”

The Republican primary for the Ohio Senate nomination is tight between Moreno and Dolan, with Moreno backed by Trump and Dolan supported by more moderate Republicans like Gov. Mike DeWine and former Sen. Rob Portman.

Polls suggest Dolan is the stronger candidate in the general election against Sen. Sherrod Brown, a crucial seat for Democrats to maintain their Senate majority.
