The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced a Significant decrease in the number of H-1B Visa Applications received for fiscal year 2025.

Data from the initial registration period indicates a 38.6% reduction in eligible registrations compared to previous year.

USCIS attributes this decline to ongoing efforts to combat fraud and ensure the integrity of the H-1B visa program.

This year sa a significant decrease in the number of beneficiaries with multiple registration, indicating success in deterring attempts to gain an unfair advantage in the selection process.

H-1B Visa Applications Key Figures:

  • 120,603 registrations selected from a pool of 470,342 eligible registrations.
  • Approximately 442,000 unique beneficiaries participated, comparable to last year’s numbers.
  • Average of 1.06 registrations per beneficiary compared to 1.70 in FY 2024.

“USCIS remains committed to protecting the H-1B visa program from abuse,” said Ur Jaddou, director of USCIS.

“We will continue to investigate and take action against fraudulent applications to ensure that only qualified individuals benefit from this important visa program.”
